IRP error 2163: Document date is in the future

What the IRP says

The document date should not be future date .

Why it happens, in NIC's words

Attempting to set future date for the document date

What NIC says to do

Check the document date being passed

NIC's wording, from its published list of IRP errors, as read on 1 October 2026.

In plain words

The document date in the file is later than today's date. The IRP does not register a document dated in the future. The IRP's list has a second error for the same condition, 2307.

How to fix it

  1. Correct the document date (DocDtls.Dt). It is written as DD/MM/YYYY.
  2. If your software fills in the date by itself, check how it does so.

Can you catch it before you upload?

Yes. The free pre-check on this site tests for it before you upload. It compares the document date with the date on your computer.

Check your e-invoice JSON

Free, with no sign-up. The file is checked in your browser and never leaves it. A clean result does not mean the IRP will accept the invoice.
